Lionheart Cricket Bats - Warranty

At the discretion of the manufacturer, Lionheart Cricket offers a warranty against any fault in the manufacturing or defective materials for a period of 6 months. Should you believe a warranty claim applies to your product then the bat should be returned to the respective retail store where it was purchased and upon their jurisdiction the bat will be returned to us for inspection. If bought directly from us then contact us and we will inspect the bat upon its arrival for a fair assessment. We want you to enjoy using our cricket bats and will do everything we can to keep your custom and maintain our reputation.

The receipt or proof of purchase must be shown with the bat for any claim to be valid. Our warranty does not include the following: misuse, insufficient knocking-in and preparation, superficial surface cracking, damaged edges or toe, alterations or excessive use. In any case of a replacement product being offered, the remaining warranty period on the existing bat will be carried over to the new bat.

All cricket bats produced by Lionheart are of the highest quality and a great deal of care is taken to make sure that only the best products are sold to our customers. Nonetheless, we accept that sometimes bats can be damaged soon after they are purchased. In circumstances where damage is caused to your bat we recommend that you inform us of the problem immediately . Your bat will then be inspected and we will advise you of the action to be taken on a case by case basis.

Any damage to the toe of the cricket bat does not carry a warranty as this is the weakest area of the bat and repeated impact will cause inevitable damage. Surface damage to the face, edge or toe that occurs due to a lack of preparation (knocking-in) or inaccurate play. Damage due to moisture or extreme heat, or damage that occurs because of improper use. Damage resulting from the use of non-leather or composite balls, including bowling machine balls.

Any Cricket bats with removed stickers do not carry a warranty.

Common Types of Bat Damage

Lionheart Cricket bats are handcrafted from natural materials and as a result, are expected to deteriorate during usage – this is often just ‘wear and tear’. Each piece of willow is different and therefore it is hard to accurately predict the lifespan of a cricket bat. Below is a list of common types of scenarioes that can occur during the lifespan of a cricket bat:

Handle Breaks

Cause: General wear and tear. Solution: The bat itself is not replaceable but the handle may be repaired at the manufacturer’s discretion.

Blade Breakage

Cause: Weak or excessively dry willow causing the bat to split horizontally across the face. Solution: Potentially replaceable by full or partial credit at the manufacturer’s discretion.

Surface Cracking to the face of the blade

Cause: General wear and tear. Solution: Not replaceable as the crack will not affect the performance of the bat. Repairable at the manufacturer’s discretion.

Small surface cracking to the edge of the blade

Cause: General wear and tear. Solution: Not replaceable as the crack will not affect the performance of the bat. Repairable at the manufacturer’s discretion.

Surface cracking to the toe area of the blade

Cause: General wear and tear. This type of damage is often caused by the striking of a ‘yorker’ delivery and/or excessive tapping of the crease and is therefore not the fault of the bat. Solution: Not replaceable as the crack will not affect the performance of the bat. Repairable at the manufacturer’s discretion.

Split through the toe area of the blade

Cause: This type of damage is caused by the striking of a ball at, or near the base of the blade, e.g. the striking of a ‘yorker’. Solution: Repairable at the manufacturer’s discretion.

Small surface cracking to the shoulder area of the blade

Cause: General wear and tear. Solution: Not replaceable as the crack will not affect the performance of the bat. Repairable at the manufacturer’s discretion.

Moisture Damage

Cause: This type of damage occurs as a result of use in damp or wet conditions. It generally leads to swelling of the toe area of the blade, which after drying may well split. Solution: Not replaceable as there is no fault with the manufacturing or the materials used. The damage may be repairable at the manufacturer’s discretion and at the customer’s cost.

Damage due to poor quality Cricket Balls

Cause: Poor quality or excessively hard cricket balls can be the cause of many types of crack or split damage to the blade of the bat. Solution: All cricket bat manufacturer’s recommend that only balls of reputable manufacture are used. Use of any other style or type of ball may cause damage to bats and will affect any claim made.
